1. What’s the process for commissioning a custom pet portrait?
To start, you’ll need to share a clear, high-quality photo of your pet that captures their personality and features. I’ll begin with a sketch, then work on layering colours and details by hand. Each portrait is created using my signature digital natural media technique in Rebelle 7 Pro, ensuring vibrant colour and lifelike texture. Once complete, your portrait will be printed on premium archival paper and delivered to you, ready to frame.
2. How long does it take to complete a portrait?
Each portrait typically takes 2-3 weeks to complete, from initial sketch to finished artwork. This allows me time to carefully craft each detail and ensure the highest quality.
3. What size and format will the portrait be?
The standard size for a commissioned portrait is between 10x10” and 12x12”, ideal for framing. Each print is produced on premium Hahnemühle German Etching paper to ensure the highest quality and longevity.
4. Can I choose the background colour?
Yes! All portraits are created with a flat-colour background in my “Pup Art” style, and you’re welcome to choose a colour that complements your decor. Just let me know your preference when placing your order.
5. Are all prints limited editions?
Yes, each print is a limited edition, usually in a 1/5 print run. Every print is registered with the Hahnemühle MyArtRegistry system, ensuring its authenticity and exclusivity. Each print comes with a numbered hologram and a certificate that includes a matching numbered hologram.
6. Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes! If you’re gifting a portrait but don’t have enough time for a full commission, I offer gift vouchers. Each voucher comes beautifully presented with a handmade greeting card and printed voucher, making it a special gift that lets the recipient commission a portrait at their convenience.
7. Is framing included?
No, framing is not included. However, each portrait is printed and delivered ready to frame, allowing you to choose the perfect frame to match your space.
8. How will my artwork be packaged and delivered?
Your print will be carefully flat-packed in a sturdy cardboard sleeve, designed to protect it during transit (even for international orders). UK delivery is included, while international orders are shipped via FedEx, with shipping costs based on the destination.
9. Do you accept international orders?
Yes, I’m happy to accept international orders, especially from the USA and Canada. Please note that these orders are subject to additional shipping costs, which will be calculated based on your location.
10. What’s your policy on revisions or adjustments to the portrait?
Once you’ve approved the initial sketch, I’ll move forward with the final artwork. Minor adjustments can be made if necessary, but significant revisions may incur an additional fee.
11. What if I don’t have a high-quality photo of my pet?
A clear, high-quality photo helps me capture the most accurate likeness and personality. If you’re unsure about a photo, feel free to send a few options, and I can help select the best one for your portrait.
12. Can I commission a portrait of more than one pet?
Yes! I’m happy to create portraits that include multiple pets. Just let me know at the time of booking, as this may affect pricing and the time required to complete your portrait.
